Slate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The short version: Slate stores your card names and search history only on your device. We collect nothing. We store nothing on servers. We share nothing with anyone.

What Slate does

Slate is a credit card rewards optimizer. You tell us which cards you own, and we tell you which card earns the most points for each purchase. That's it.

Information we collect

Slate does not collect any personal information. We have no accounts, no sign-in, no backend servers, and no analytics.

The only data Slate stores is:

All of this is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's standard local storage (UserDefaults). It never leaves your iPhone.

Information we do NOT collect

Location

If you grant Slate permission to use your location, it is used only to suggest the best card for merchants near you. Your location is processed entirely on-device and is never sent to any server or stored anywhere.

You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Slate.

Third parties

Slate does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or data brokers. We have no third-party SDKs in the app. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone.

iCloud and backups

Slate's local data is excluded from iCloud backups. This means your wallet and search history will not sync across devices or be stored in iCloud.

Children

Slate is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since Slate collects no data, changes to this policy are unlikely.
